Preserve Our Parks and The Park People When Preserve Our Parks and The Park People of Milwaukee County wanted to prevent the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center from expanding its parking lot onto county-owned park land, they asked Zeppos & Associates to help raise awareness of the issue. Preserve Our Parks and The Park People were concerned that citizens did not know about the War Memorial’s proposal, which was up for vote before the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors. They feared the proposal would be passed quickly and quietly, bypassing proper procedure. Zeppos & Associates coordinated a news conference with both groups - which garnered a wide variety of media coverage - urging constituents to encourage their Board representative to vote no on the War Memorial’s proposal. By combining traditional media, the voice of the people and the growing power of social media, Zeppos & Associates secured a positive outcome for the client, and the proposal was rejected by the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors.
